Getting into Low Lunge Pose (Ashwa Sanchalanasana)

Ashwa Sanchalanasana is also called as ‘Low Lunge Pose’ or ‘Equestrian Pose’. You can find this pose while doing modified Suryanamaskars.

This is a hip opening asana, which also opens your chest and lungs. The spine stretches in the backward arch which increases flexibility. If done regularly, you will see your thighs and abdominal area get toned too!

Instructions:

  1. Sit in Vajrasana.

  2. Stand on your knee, keeping your knees and feet together.

  3. Bring your right leg in front, aligning the knee with the ankle,

  4. Rest the left knee on the ground.

  5. Join your hands above your head.

  6. Tilt the head backwards.

  7. Arch your back taking your hands behind along with your body.

  8. Hold the pose and feel the stretch.

Precuations:

Instead of looking up, look straight if having any neck problems.

Avoid the pose if suffering from knee or ankle problem

Perfect this pose and create your own sequence!!

Until then,

Avanti in Namah-state ❤️
